Photoshop-new - preset- film and video 

size - PAL d1/dv widescreen square pixel 

same size as after effects composition 

Title safe zone- inside frame 

stay inside frame and any text will appear as it should 

second frame- action safe zone

may be able to see the text but may be distorted 

After effects:

chose grid and guide options- title and action safe

Photoshop:

Create text, crop, transparent background safe 

After effects:

Import file 

import as- footage (audio, video, still image) 

Merged layers 

Project panel drag to comp window or into timeline 

automatically be in the middle

Photoshop:

Separate letters 

Rasterize type can cut in half

New layer via cut Puts into new layer 

save as photoshop file- with layers 

After effects: 

File import file 

to use all layers import as composition 

Illustrator: 

File- new- video and film 

PAL d1/dv widescreen 

divide illustrator artwork into layers 

new layer 

Select image on little blue square and drag to new layer 

Illustrator can enlarge and it will not be pixelated 

Enlarging a photoshop file will look blurry, pixelated 

Same will happen with illustrator because after effects work with pixels  

For comp layer collapse transformation will not be pixelated 

Prepare photoshop at largest resolution you are going to need it then you can scale it down 

without it being pixelated

Import as: comp - retain layer sizes.
